Sonic Tomography and Resistance Drilling
As specialists in tree inspection, we can carry out sonic tomography scans using the industry leading Picus 3 tomograph to show the extent, if any, of internal decay within your trees.
The resulting tomogram provides a detailed image of the tree’s internal structure, helping to identify cavities, cracks and weakened areas that are not visible from the outside.
Where further clarity is required, we can also undertake precision resistance drilling to confirm the presence and severity of any defects. This targeted method measures changes in wood density and supports accurate decision‑making when assessing tree safety, long‑term retention or management options.
These advanced diagnostic services are particularly helpful when providing evidence for the removal of a protected tree, or where earlier inspections have suspected decay. They offer reliable, quantifiable information to support planning applications, safety assessments and ongoing tree care.
